Una bellissima iniziativa, quella ideata dalla brava giornalista Franca Antoci (in foto mentre ritira un premio). La Sicilia del 4 aprile sarà, per una pagina, in Arabo.
Il 9 settembre del 2014, nello specchio di mare su cui si affacciano la Sicilia, Malta e Creta, veniva compiuta una delle stragi più spietate e crudeli della storia degli sbarchi. Un barcone con oltre 500 profughi in fuga da Libia, Siria, Egitto, Sudan e Palestina è stato speronato e affondato da cinque componenti di un’organizzazione di trafficanti di uomini con sede ad Alessandria d’Egitto. Questi assassini hanno dato la morte a 300 uomini e 200 tra donne e bambini. Intere famiglie sono state inghiottite dall’acqua. Dieci i sopravvissuti soccorsi da altri migranti, che sono riusciti a raggiungere le coste di Sicilia, Malta e Creta.
Tra questi una bimba che è diventata la speranza di un numero imprecisato di persone le quali sperano sia la figlia o la nipote dispersa ma che ancora oggi è sola, e due uomini sbarcati a Pozzallo dopo essere rimasti due giorni e mezzo e due notti in mare. Importanti testimoni di un orrore per il quale sono già stati arrestati due dei responsabili della strage. I due uomini sopravvissuti sono protetti in strutture del nord Europa. Alla giornalista e vice caposervizio del quotidiano “La Sicilia” presso la redazione di Ragusa Franca Antoci, che è riuscita ad intervistarlo, uno di loro racconta attimo per attimo la disperazione, la paura e la speranza di un’avventura senza ritorno che ha cambiato per sempre la vita di chi è rimasto miracolosamente vivo.
In una pagina monografica dedicata alla strage, gli articoli di Franca Antoci ripercorrono gli ultimi giorni di vita delle vittime, ricostruiscono le indagini della squadra mobile condotte dal dirigente Antonino Ciavola e coordinate dalla Procura distrettuale Antimafia di Catania, e raccolgono le dichiarazioni del procuratore capo della Repubblica di Catania Giovanni Salvi il quale ricorda la casella di posta naufragio.wreck.procura.catania@giustizia.it messa a disposizione di quanti vogliano ricevere o fornire informazioni utili all’identificazione dei dispersi. Perché su questi morti non cada l’oblìo e perché il dolore non abbia colore, il quotidiano “La Sicilia”, avvalendosi della traduzione della mediatrice linguistica Fethia Bouhajeb e dell’ottimizzazione dei testi a fronte curata dalla giornalista e interprete Valentina Maci, ha voluto pubblicare una pagina con testo a fronte dall’italiano all’arabo, con la collaborazione della tipografia “Elle Due” di Ragusa, nell’edizione del 4 aprile 2015.
L’obiettivo è informare e abbattere le barriere che rendono difficile comunicazione e comprensione tra culture profondamente diverse. On September 9, 2014, in the part of the sea that is overlooked by Sicily, Malta and Crete, one of the most ruthless and cruel massacres of the history of the landings was accomplished. A boat carrying more than 500 refugees fleeing Libya, Syria, Egypt, Sudan and Palestine was rammed and sunk by five members of an organization of traffickers headquartered in Alexandria, Egypt. These human traffickers caused deaths of 300 men and 200 women and children. Entire families were swallowed by the water. Ten the survivors rescued by other migrants, who have managed to reach the shores of Sicily, Malta and Crete. Among them was a child who has became the hope of an unknown number of people who wished her to be their lost daughter, or granddaughter, but who is still alone today, and two men landed in Pozzallo after remaining two and a half days and two nights at sea. Two men who became important witnesses of a horror for which two of the perpetrators of the massacre have already been arrested. The two surviving men are protected in structures of Northern Europe. To the journalist and deputy head of department of the editorial staff of Ragusa of the daily “La Sicilia”, Franca Antoci, who managed to interview him, one of them tells moment by moment despair, fear and hope of an adventure with no return that changed always the life of those who remained miraculously alive. In a monograph page dedicated to the massacre, the articles by the journalist Franca Antoci, retrace the last days of the victims’ life, rebuild the investigations conducted by the head of the squad Antonino Ciavola and coordinated by the Anti-Mafia District Attorney of Catania, and report the statements of the chief Prosecutor of the Republic of Catania Giovanni Salvi who recalls the mail address naufragio.wreck.procura.catania@giustizia.it which is available to those who wish to receive or provide information to assist in the identification of missing people. So that these deaths will not fall into oblivion, and so that pain has no colour, the newspaper “La Sicilia”, in the edition of April 4, 2015, it is going to publish a parallel page Italian-Arabic, thanks to the translation of the linguistic mediator Fethia Bouhajeb and parallel texts optimization edited by the journalist and interpreter Valentina Maci, with the collaboration of “Elle Due” typography in Ragusa. The aim is to inform and break down barriers that hinder communication and understanding between different cultures.
